Subject: Saw about an hour of the scrimmage late Saturday afternoon. Pitching looked...

Message:

very good (of the ones I saw). Of course, it may have been too cold
for the hitters to get going. The pitchers I saw and remember were
Brandt, Wright, Armstrong and Simmons:
Brandt looked solid (not sure how long he had been pitching when I
arrived).
Wright and Armstrong looked darn good, and both were throwing some
heat (had to be well into the 90's...but no verification on that).
Simmons looked darn good as well...his fastball and breaking ball
were outstanding.
Wright, Armstrong and Simmons could be very strong on the back end,
and I know Wright and Armstrong can be possible starters as well.

Got to be lack of field time...only so much you can do indoors. **  --  Privateer   Tue Feb 9 2010 8:09:24 AM
