I just don't confuse respect with affording him undue credit for
experience (namely, foreign relations) that he doesn't actually have.

True respect for his service would be to recognize it for WHAT IT WAS,
instead of dressing it up with what it wasn't.

And FTR, the comment wasn't about McCain, it was directed towards
those who incorrectly equate his experience as a POW with experience
in foreign relations. Last I checked, they weren't teaching
international affairs in those camps.
